This Thursday’s gig at Glasgow Art Club is by the current Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year, Pete Johnstone. He’ll be there playing organ in his new band, which also includes drummer John Lowrie, alto player Adam Jackson and guitarist David Dunsmuir (who was a key member of the Alyn Cosker band which recorded Lyn’s Une).

The gig starts at 8pm, with tickets costing £5 (or £4 concessions). They’re also playing at the Jazz Bar in Edinburgh the previous day, Wednesday 7th.

Pete Johnstone’s Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year winning set is available via the BBC’s Jazz House site (as are sets by all the other finalists).
