American trumpet legend Randy Brecker will be in Scotland this coming weekend to play a series of concerts, two of them in Glasgow.
He’ll mainly be playing with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra as featured soloist in concerts celebrating the music of his younger, sadly deceased, brother, saxophonist Michael Brecker.
- Thursday 24 May. Greyfriars Kirk, Lanark
- Friday 25 May. Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh
- Saturday 26 May. Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow
- Sunday 27 May. Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy
All the concerts start at 7.30pm, with a pre-concert talk by Randy Brecker at 6.45pm. Full details are on the SNJO website.
On Monday 28 May, Brecker is guesting with jazz students from the Royal Conservatoire as part of the monthly Blue Monday series. This starts at 6.30pm and is one of the few chances you’ll get to see a star like Randy Brecker for a mere £6.
