The Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra have a couple of gigs this weekend. On Friday, they play the Guinness Room at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (the former RSAMD). The gig starts at 7.30pm, and tickets are £8 full price and £5 concession.

The gig originally scheduled for the Pleasance in Edinburgh on Saturday is cancelled, but they go on to play the Coronation Hall in Ulverston on Sunday afternoon. There are more performances scheduled for early March.

They’ve got a new CD Emergence out, which got good reviews on the Bebop Spoken Here and London Jazz blogs earlier this week.
