Funding issues have meant that the Thursday night series of gigs at Glasgow Art Club has been very intermittent for the past few months. However, tomorrow night’s performance by US band Secret Architecture is definitely on.
Secret Architecture are founded and co-led by saxophonist Fraser Campbell (originally from Perth) and drummer Zach Mangan. The exact line-up seems to vary, but on their Scottish tour they’re playing as a quartet with pianist Wade Ridenhour and bass player Julian Smith.
In his email confirming the gig, Bill Kyle says: “They played Edinburgh’s Jazz Bar last Saturday night and brought the (packed) house down – absolutely brilliant!”. Rob Adams gave their Perth show an excellent review in today’s Herald, and reckons that the Glasgow gig is going to be “unmissable”.
Secret Architecture play Glasgow Art Club, 185 Bath Street at 8pm, on Thursday 1 December. Tickets are £10 (£8 concessions).
