I went to see the Glasgow-set romantic comedy Fast Romance yesterday. It’s not a particularly good film, but it’s no worse than a lot of big-name, big-budget Hollywood romcoms. And singer Suzanne Bonnar plays one of the main supporting characters. I hadn’t realised she was an actor as well as a musician.
As always with Glasgow-based films and TV programmes, half the fun is trying to spot the location. It took most of the film before I realised that the café where a lot of it is set is just a street away from me, in Sinclair Drive in Battlefield, diagonally across the road from the Greek restaurant which featured prominently in Scotland’s contender for the title of “greatest television series ever made”, the wonderful Tutti Frutti.
