There are a couple of interesting concerts on over the next couple of days.

On Wednesday 24th, Stewart Forbes is directing a group of students from the Strathclyde University BA Applied Music course in a “Rush Hour Jazz” concert at the Recital Room in the City Halls. It starts at 5.30 and costs £4. Graduates of the course include Alyn Cosker and Konrad Wiszniewski, so this gives you a chance to hear potential stars of tomorrow today.

On Thursday 25th, guitarist Graeme Stephen’s sextet are playing at the Glasgow Art Club. I enjoyed their March gig at the Recital Room and am keen to here how they have developed since then. As well as Graeme Stephen, the band includes Martin Kershaw and Fraser Fifield on reeds, Chris Stout on violin, Mario Caribe on bass and drummer Chris Wallace. The concert starts at 8 or slightly after, and tickets are £6 (£5 concessions).
